Out of the hospital!

When I went to the ER, I didn’t think I would be spending the night, much less being held prisoner for 2 more days. All in all it was not too bad of an experience, except for being stabbed by over a dozen needles! I apparently have very deep veins that are hard to hit, so it made a few of the blood draws interesting as they had to stick me 2-3 times in different places in an attempt to get some blood.

Anyhow the diagnosis was Cellulitis, so I got a LOT of IV antibiotics (6 bags I think total), and now have to take 12 days of oral antibiotics at home. I also got some Percocet for the pain, which ranges from moderate to excruciating depending on if there is any actual contact or pressure on my lower leg.

I’m considering myself lucky, as it could have been much worse, like a blood clot, or some kind of tumor that would have to be cut out. I owe many thanks to the folks who provided support for me (especially Christine and Terry). All of the well-wishes and concern did a lot to raise my morale. Thank you all!

I’m glad it turned out not to be worse than it was. For someone who never gets sick, you sure made up for lost time!!
